I can’t say I really do or don’t believe in ghosts or spirits but there has been some odd things I’ve experienced in our master bedroom in our home. Which by the way, we are the first and only owners to the home built in 2008.

Yesterday I was getting ready to leave for work, it was still dark out and I turned off the light in the bedroom and turned off our electric fireplace. We have two jeweled sconces on either side of our window. I took notice the one on the left was glowing orange. I thought maybe I perhaps didn’t turn off the fireplace and the glow was from the reflection of it. But when I turned around, it indeed was off.

I stood there for a minute and slowly walked up to the sconce. The little cheap, battery votive candle was glowing.

Now there has been some strange things going on in the bedroom I’ve noticed, but this by far freaked me out. Those candles hadn’t worked in over five years. It freaked me out so much I grabbed my phone to take a picture. Not the best picture in low light but….

When I reached in to grab the candle to investigate, it turned off. It hadn’t come on since. I kid you not, the tears started. I’m such a baby.

It could be many things, but my first thought was I was losing my mind. My second thought was my dad, since he passed away this past August, four days before my birthday. Maybe grief is overwhelming me.

Prior to all this on various days and times, I had gotten a strong whiff of sulfur type substance like a candle had been blown out. I’ve gotten strong perfume smells near the window, no perfume of mine. Ive experienced random things moved about in the room. I’ve seen heavy smoke like someone blowing smoke from a cigarette just outside our bedroom window and indeed could smell it through the vent of the stove. I thought my husband had come home early and was in the backyard because one was home at the time but me and I did do a walk around the whole house and no one was there. All of this has been going on for years.

It doesn’t happen frequently, but not sure what to think. Spirits? I don’t know. Mostly it’s strong smells of such perfume or cologne, but not similar smells of what we have.

I’ve been told several times it’s spirits but I never believed it. But the candle? I’m starting to have second thoughts.
